✨ A Note About My Whimsy Weaves ✨
As I've started sharing my woven wall art creations, I wanted to take a moment to explain something important.
Many people see a circular woven design and immediately think of a dream catcher. Traditional dream catchers have deep cultural and spiritual significance, particularly within Indigenous communities, where they carry history, meaning, and traditions that deserve respect and understanding.
While some of my pieces may be inspired by the visual beauty of woven designs, they are not intended to be traditional dream catchers, nor are they created to represent or replicate their cultural purpose.
My creations are simply whimsical works of art made from materials I love—ribbons, florals, crystals, beads, themed embellishments, and lots of imagination. They are designed to tell stories, celebrate favorite characters, spark nostalgia, and bring a little charm and wonder into a room.
That's why I've chosen to call them Whimsy Weaves rather than dream catchers. The name better reflects what they are: decorative art pieces woven with creativity, personality, and heart.
As an artist, I believe it's important to appreciate beauty while also respecting the traditions and cultures from which certain symbols originate. I wanted to share this distinction so everyone understands the intention behind my work.
Thank you for supporting my creative journey and for allowing me to share these little pieces of whimsy with you. ❤️
