Whether you're replacing an aging apparatus or planning for future growth, the process starts long before the truck arrives at your station.

Hose, nozzles, valves, appliances, fittings, tools, or truck equipment - small issues can turn into bigger headaches when equipment is needed most.

The wait is almost over.

This week, the Piedmont Fire team is headed to the South Carolina Fire-Rescue Conference in Myrtle Beach.

Over the next few days, firefighters from across the region will come together to train, learn, share ideas, and connect with others who are passionate about the fire service.

We're looking forward to seeing familiar faces, meeting new people, and being part of another great conference.

Building or purchasing a new apparatus is one of the most important investments a department will make.

And while every build is different, there are a few common mistakes we see that can create long-term challenges if they aren’t thought through early in the process.

We put this together based on real conversations and real experiences working alongside departments through their builds and purchases.
