Two floor machines can look alike and still use different parts.

Before ordering a squeegee blade, brush or other replacement part, get a clear picture of the model and serial number. A picture of the old part helps, too.

Need a part? Send us those pictures and tell us what you need replaced. We’ll check the fit and get you a price.

Floor care starts at the door

Grit tracked in on shoes can scratch the floor and wear on the finish.

Keep entrance mats clean and remove loose dirt before wet cleaning. It’s a simple part of protecting the work you’ve already put into the floor.

Entrance area giving you trouble? Send us a photo and tell us what type of floor it is. We’ll help you work through the cleaning options.

Wednesday — Test before cleaning the whole floor

Before you clean the whole floor, try a small test area.

First, figure out what you’re trying to remove. Is it dirt, cooking grease, motor oil or something else? What type of floor is underneath it?

The soil, floor surface and any existing coating all affect which cleaner and pad to use. A small test lets you check the results before committing to the whole job.

Send us a picture and tell us what’s on the floor, what type of floor it is and what you’ve tried so far. We’ll help you figure out the next step.

When can you apply the next coat?

Ready for the next coat? Check the recoat window first.

Coating too soon can cause problems. Waiting too long may mean extra surface prep before the next coat.

The timing depends on the product and job conditions. Check the technical data sheet for the coating you’re using.

Tell us what you used and when it went down. We’ll help you check the next step.

Why Does Cleaner pH Matter?
The strongest cleaner isn’t always the best cleaner.
Different soils and floor types respond better to different chemistry. Using something that’s too aggressive — or simply using too much product — can leave residue, dull the floor, or make future maintenance harder.
For routine maintenance, a neutral cleaner can often be the better choice on finished floors and other surfaces that don’t need aggressive chemistry.
Our product highlight is NCL Neutral Q.
Not sure what cleaner belongs on your floor? Tell us what type of floor you’re cleaning and what problem you’re having. We’ll help point you in the right direction.

Why Does Polished Concrete Start Dusting?
Concrete can look solid and still have a weak or porous surface.
As traffic wears on that surface, fine particles can loosen and create the dust you see around the floor.
That’s where a concrete densifier comes in. A densifier penetrates the concrete and helps strengthen the wearable surface rather than simply putting a coating on top.
Our product highlight this week is Ameripolish 3D HS Hybrid Silicate Densifier.
If your concrete is dusting, don’t assume the answer is just more cleaning. Send us a photo of the floor and we’ll help you figure out what may be going on.

Why Is My Autoscrubber Leaving Swirl Marks?
Seeing circular or swirl marks after running your autoscrubber?
Before blaming the floor, check what’s happening underneath the machine.
A few common causes are:
- Dirt or grit trapped under the pad
- A worn cleaning pad or brush
- Using the wrong pad for the floor
- Uneven deck pressure
- Trying to pick up too much soil in one pass
Even a small piece of debris under a pad can leave marks across a large area.
Quick check: stop the machine, inspect the pad or brush, clean the deck, and make sure everything is seated correctly before making another pass.
Still having trouble? Send us a picture of the marks or bring the machine by and let us take a look.

Epoxy or Polyaspartic?
Epoxy or polyaspartic? There isn’t one answer that fits every floor.
Epoxy can be a good choice when build, adhesion, and working time are important.
Polyaspartic is often chosen when a faster return to service is a priority.
The right system depends on the concrete, surface preparation, traffic, environment, and how quickly the area needs to be back in use.
That’s why we look at the whole job, not just the coating.
Planning a concrete coating project? Call us before you start and we’ll help you sort through the options.

Why Do Carpet Spots Come Back After Cleaning?
Ever clean a carpet spot and think it’s gone… only to see it show back up later?
One common reason is wicking. Soil or residue can stay deeper in the carpet and work its way back toward the surface as the carpet dries.
Too much cleaner, poor rinsing, or leaving too much moisture behind can also make the problem worse.
The goal isn’t just to remove what you can see — it’s to clean thoroughly, remove as much residue and moisture as possible, and let the carpet dry properly.
If you have a carpet spot that keeps coming back, send us a picture and we’ll help you figure out what may be causing it.
