Sweet friends, it is with a heavy heart that this post comes to you today. As you know, KC Coffee Roasters was founded with the mission of providing sustainable options for giving back to the world around us. Our signature house blend, Rise, was created to help support the incredible work of the Su***de Prevention Lifeline.
Today, more than ever, we are reminded of the significance of our mission. Just a few hours ago, Danelle received some incredibly painful news from her family. Earlier this morning, a ten year old child tragically lost his life to su***de.
This isn't supposed to happen.
Children are meant to grow into adults. They're meant to believe in the endless possibilities and wonder of the universe. They're meant to be here. To play. To learn. To live.
The devastating impacts of su***de are felt by 20% of Americans who have lost a loved one to it. Today, Danelle joined that 1 in 5, a club that we can work together to prevent additional membership in.
In the aftermath of such horrifying news, we often find ourselves wondering "what can we do?". In speaking with Danelle this afternoon, we want to utilize the mission of our business to encourage you to lend your support in honor of the beautiful soul that the world lost today and to those who struggle with mental health who need help now more than ever before.
What can we do?
1. If you or someone you know is struggling, please know that you are never alone. Your mental health matters. It's okay to not be okay. And it's okay to get help in the moments that you aren't.

Call 800-273-8255 if you need someone to get you through this moment. There is someone available to talk to you 24 hours a day. Someone who knows the demons that you're struggling with who can help you in this crisis.
You are too important to lose.
2. Love one another.
Your moment of kindness, the chance you took to show someone else that you loved them enough to care could be the difference between life and death. So just do it. Every day. Tell them you care, show them you care. Be nice. Just love.
3. Support organizations that operate with a purpose.
Please consider donating to non-profit organizations that normalize mental health and work to provide resources for those who are struggling.
