This year, Alpine is fully embracing beneficial insects to help with pest control in the greenhouses! We’ve been working with our friends at beneficialinsectary to create a management plan for all our greenhouses, and things are in full swing! We have beneficial mites, wasps, beetles, midges, and nematodes (so far) deployed around and so far we’re thrilled. It lets us lessen our impacts to the environment, helps us grow a healthier plant for you, and keeps Kim from spraying so much. It’s way more fun to sprinkle bugs around than suit up and spray insecticide! So if you see little cards, sachets, dust, or “bug shacks” around the greenhouses or on your plants, or see a little a little dust or vermiculite on the plants, it’s probably something to help our beneficial insects do their jobs better!

Bring in nonperishable food or personal items, and for each item donated, we’ll take 5% off one item in the gift shop, up to 25% off. Donations will assist the Central Montana Community Cupboard.
