Eva Zeisel (1906–2011) born Eva Amalia Striker was a Hungarian-American industrial designer known for her organic, whimsically “playful,” ceramic tableware. Her career spanned approximately 75 years during which she became the first woman to hold a one-woman show at MoMA (1946.) Prolific, we are excited to now offer examples of her work produced towards the end of her career with The Orange Chicken. Many of her classic designs were released with a unique gunmetal or Iridescent Szolnay glaze. Functional and striking, these examples have not been seen for the better part of two decades.

This vase is one of the earliest known pieces of Zeisel’s work. Signed SPE, it was created in her 20’s when she was going by her maiden name Eva Striker Polanyi. We will be launching the full line April 1st. Examples are available online and in person at The Golden Rabbit.

☄️ Tonight there is a rare astrological event when we experience a full moon with a showy meteor shower. The intense moonlight will dim the fainter meteors, but don’t be discouraged. Gaze towards the Big Dipper and enjoy! The Quadrantids are well known for producing bright fireballs which can still shine through the moonlight.

This 14K Victorian yellow gold hinged bangle bracelet features a stunning central scalloped openwork section adorned with black enamel.
