At the age of 10, my meme introduced me to knitting and crochet. I immediately fell in love with the process, watching a simple ball of yarn transform into various

shapes with just a hook or needles. Now, years later, my passion for these crafts has only grown stronger. Each time I sit down to knit or crochet, it feels like a therapeutic escape from the chaotic pace of daily life. As one enjoys creating, seeing others appreciate my work is an added bonus. In 2023, I launched my Hugs for Heads business as a tribute to my dear friend Denise who passed away after battling cancer for years. During her hair loss journey, she struggled to find headwear that made her feel confident and beautiful. That's when I made her a hat that became known as "My Denise". Her smile said it all - she felt pretty again. My goal with this collection is to bring comfort and joy to anyone facing illness or simply looking for something special to wear. A portion of all proceeds will go to the Cancer Support Fund of Central Mass in loving memory of Denise Downes♡ & Virginia Tocci♡

Every stitch has a story. This one took hours. 🧶

The coral and beige patchwork sleeve she's adjusting? Each square was hooked one at a time, right here in the studio, then stitched together into a sweater meant to be lived in.

Lazy mornings in the armchair. Coffee in hand. Plants doing their thing overhead. That's exactly the kind of moment I picture when I'm making a piece like this.

Open-stitch, buttery soft, and a little bit warmer than it looks. I love seeing this one out in the wild, on a real person, in a real cozy moment.

Forty-something hours. One square at a time.

That's what's swinging from her shoulder out in the field right now. A black canvas of color-blocked granny squares, deep red handles, and enough room for sunscreen, a paperback, two peaches, and whatever else summer asks you to carry.

Every single square was hooked by hand in my studio here in Leominster. No two totes ever come out quite the same, which is kind of the whole point of slow, handmade work.

This one is made to be carried everywhere. Field, farmers market, front porch, repeat. 🧶

These little crochet disc earrings catch the window light like a tiny mandala secret. Every single loop in that 5cm circle was stitched by Kelly, one slow pass at a time, until the pattern bloomed into something you can actually feel against your skin 🤎

Creamy beige cotton, bronze and wood beads, a soft gleam where the sun hits. The kind of detail that only shows up when you lean in close.

Cork, brass, and a steady hand 🧶

Four materials came together for this one little bag, and every single one earned its spot. A light blue crochet body, stitched row by row in the studio. Cork stud trim, sanded smooth so it feels like worn leather. An antique brass chain with real weight to it, the kind that swings when you walk.

And a tiny starfish charm. Because Kelly picked it up, held it next to the bag, and just couldn't put it back. 🐚

It took hours to make. You can feel every one of them the moment you pick it up. That's the thing about handmade. The time doesn't disappear. It settles into the piece and stays there.

Meet the Coastal Crossbody, and she's a slow one. The cork border has real weight to it, with sturdy little studs you can run your thumb across. The starfish on the flap? Hand-stitched, not glued. The raffia catches the light like dry sand.

Every single stitch on this chunky pom beanie was worked by hand. No machines, no shortcuts. Just Kelly, a crochet hook, and a quiet afternoon of soft grey yarn looping into something cozy enough to live in.

Wool, shaped by hand. Every stitch deliberate. 🧶

This one took an afternoon of quiet work in the studio. Just me, a crochet hook, and a skein of buttery soft yarn slowly turning into something you can actually pull on and wear out the door.

Look closely at the photo and you'll catch those little ridges where the light pools. That texture only shows up when a hat is built one loop at a time, the slow way, the handmade way.

No two pieces I make are ever exactly alike. A stitch sits a hair differently, the yarn catches the light its own way, the brim hugs a little snugger here than there. That's kind of the whole point of choosing handmade over something pulled off a factory line.
