The idea took root when we realized that traditional candles were

n’t the safest option in a home with active kids and a playful pet. At the time, flameless candles on the market felt uninspired and lacked the charm we wanted to bring into our space. Determined to find a better solution, we began designing flameless candles that didn’t just provide safety, they added beauty and character through their unique designs. Just start.

4 years ago, we dipped our very first candle on the stovetop in our kitchen because I wanted beautiful seasonal flameless candles for our home that were safe around our two boys and our dog.

We had no idea that one little idea would grow into what Small Town Dusk is today.

A small booth became a bigger booth.
A personal vehicle became a company van.
A simple candle became a collection of designs loved by homes all over the country.

The truth is… we didn’t start with everything figured out.

We started with an idea, learned along the way, and kept making it better.

And we’re still not done. 👀

50 pounds of real beeswax, carefully melted in our Lancaster, PA workshop.

Our beeswax arrives naturally white, and we custom blend the colors ourselves to create the seasonal shades you love. Once the wax is ready, each flameless candle is finished with wax by hand to create its beautiful wax finish, adding the warmth and texture that makes every candle feel unique.

It’s a process we love because it brings together the convenience of a battery-operated candle with the beauty and character of real wax.

Thank you, Vintage Market Days of Pittsburgh ! ✨

What an incredible first weekend in Monroeville!
To everyone who stopped by our booth, said hello, shared kind words, or took home one of our candles…thank you for making our very first Vintage Market Days of Pittsburgh such a memorable experience 💛

The weekend came with a few unexpected challenges, from smoky skies caused by the Canadian and Minnesota wildfires to a shattered rear window on our van. But we chose to make the best of it, and your support made it all worthwhile.

There were plenty of bright spots too! I even got to meet Melissa Gisoni from Dance Moms, which was such a fun surprise. We were also thrilled to reconnect with our “Buc-ee’s” friends! A wonderful mother and daughter we first met at a show in South Carolina last year. They happened to be nearby and made a special trip to visit our booth, which meant so much to us.

Thank you to everyone who came out despite the air quality and supported all of the amazing small businesses. We truly appreciate each and every one of you and hope to see you again at a future show!

Our booth is officially ready at Vintage Market Days Tri-State Pittsburgh in the Monroeville Convention Center, and we couldn’t be more excited!

This is our first expanded Fall, Halloween & Christmas setup of the season, featuring all of our brand new candle designs, candle rings and holders, alongside many of your returning favorites. As we head into the second half of the year, our booth is beginning its holiday transformation with an even bigger selection of seasonal decor while still bringing a little something from every season.

From our newly redesigned Jack O’Lantern and Black Cat, to our Candy Corn and Christmas Triple Dip candles, new seasonal candle rings, present shaped taper holders, and so much more, there’s plenty to discover!
