We are located in the Kansas City area where we offer a wide range of products from Highland Attire to Piping and Drumming. Our valued team is made up of seamstresses, pipers and drummers who know the product and are actively involved with the Highland scene across the globe. Whether it's a new kilt, your first practice chanter, a fresh pair of ghillie brogues, a custom Prince Charlie jacket or a

Long time no see, everyone! J.Higgins is thriving and growing, and we've got big news for you. We're moving! After 26 years in our current location, we're in the process of building a brand new location in Historic Old Town Lenexa Kansas. As of June 22nd 2026, our new address will be:

Please double check your information during this time as we make our move. Pertinent items such as purchase orders, returns/exchanges, alterations, bagpipe refurbishments, and in-person shop visits all need to have our new address at the forefront. We'd ask that you call ahead to schedule any in-person meetings at our new location. We will be operational during this time, and our regular shop hours will remain as posted. Happy New Year to all of our customers and followers! We're excited to start 2024 with plenty of work for us to do at the shop. Today, we're cutting some bag covers like this one made from the Buchanan Hunting Ancient tartan. These colors are stunning.

One of our last completed outfits here in 2023. McLeod of Harris modern with brown and chocolate bronze accessories. What a year it has been, and we seem to stay ever busy with our work here! We're thankful to all of our customers and followers who help support and keep things moving forward for us here at J.Higgins.

Happy November to all our followers! We're hard at work here sewing some beautiful outfits. This newest one in the Grey Fraser tweed will soon turn into a beautiful kilt. Paired with matching metal-work and merino kilt hose. Perfect for the cold weather soon to come.

Quite the gorgeous set of highland bagpipes headed out today. Don't you just love the horn mounts paired with that thistle engraving? Excellent choice in looks and in sound.

We take enormous pride in the set-up and testing of each set of bagpipes before they leave the shop. Using specific test reeds and techniques to get the most out of the instrument. We loved the way this set of AB1 bagpipes were playing as they left our shop today.

Recently completed work on this gorgeous Grant Red Ancient daywear outfit. Complete with fine footwear, a braided leather daywear sporran, and stunning lovat green tweed argyle jacket. We love these beautiful fall colors here.

How fun it was to present this outfit to a local piper here in Kansas City. This is specially woven Stephenson Ancient tartan our customer brought to us and we made a beautiful kilt from the cloth. Paired with a gorgeous charcoal tweed waistcoat, this was a joy to see fully completed.
