Welp, friends, things aren't looking good. The City of Lenexa is recommending that the Board of Zoning Appeals deny our application for a home business license. We're confused, enraged, and exhausted, but we refuse to give up this fight. This business means too much to our family.
25 emails of support were sent to the City. We collected signatures of support from 11 neighboring residences over the course of 4 evenings. We've addressed all identified concerns of the City and our neighbors. Yet, the City is standing it's ground that we don't deserve a home business license. We have one last shot at convincing them to overturn their decision, and that is through our presentation at our hearing with the Board tomorrow evening. We've spent the entire weekend preparing our PowerPoint to plead our case.
If you feel compelled, please attend our hearing tomorrow evening. Here are the details:
City of Lenexa Board of Zoning Appeals
7:00pm
Community Forum at City Hall
17101 W 87th Street Parkway
Lenexa, KS 66219
If you can't make it, we understand. We'd rather be sitting at home, cozied up on the couch, cheering on the Chiefs, too. We're grateful that our son and his grandfather were gifted some tickets to the game, and they'll be making amazing memories as they each cheer on their favorite opposing teams on a beautiful Monday evening in KC. Despite all this, life is still good. People are still good.
So, let's get to the important stuff. If the vote goes in our favor tomorrow night, we plan to celebrate at Martin City Brewing Company in Lenexa City Center. If the vote doesn't go in our favor, we plan to identify our next steps in this fight at JT's Grill in De Soto.
Thank you all for your continued support, love, and encouragement. We truly couldn't do this without you! ❤️
