Don't forget to place your order for pickup tomorrow, 3/26/21. For all of you vegetarians, I'm trying a new item this week--Meatless meatballs, the base of which is roasted eggplant. I know, it sounds a little incongruent to the true culinary treat of the real deal, but these gems are surprisingly tasty. I got the stamp of approval from my son, Evan, who's a vegetarian and has been bugging me to invent a meatless meatball for a while now. Place your order soon because there is a limited amount!

Now that the weather is warmer I have lost my craving for soup. So the soup of the week is taking a vacation until colder weather returns next fall. In the coming weeks I hope to add weekly specials such as Lasagna, Pesto, or Puttanesca. But until then, this week Simonaco's will be offering Soft Biscotti cookies; the green frosting is in honor of St. Patrick's Day and our Irish friends. They are $7 a dozen. Don't forget to place your orders for Friday pickup, and be sure to grab these addictive treats for dessert!

Sick of this cold weather yet? Well, Simonaco's soup of the week is one positive aspect of winter, and this week is no exception. This week's fare is Wild Rice and Mushroom soup. One hot bowl of this and you will be saying, "what snap of cold weather?" Go ahead and place your order for Friday pickup. Simonaco’s soup of the week is Cream of Roasted Cauliflower and Chick Pea Soup. If you’re thinking this sounds like an unusual combination, you’re in for a deliciously tasty surprise! This recipe is one of my many discoveries in searching for plant-based culinary ideas for my vegetarian boy.

What's the secret to a tasty soup? Make it a day or two in advance so that the flavors have plenty of time to meld together. Place your order for Tomato Basil soup with either herb garlic bread or homemade crunchy croutons, alongside our Simonaco's house salad or pasta. Or buy some soup by the quart to save for a snowy day. We're still taking orders for Friday pickup!
