Good Monday morning, friends!

It’s officially summer! ☀️

Mr. Two Fish captured this beautiful sunset from the Leland Harbor on the summer solstice last night. We had planned to go together, but after both being under the weather all week, I was sound asleep long before the show began. I’ll admit I’m feeling a little disappointed this morning—I took one look at the clouds and confidently declared there wouldn’t be much of a sunset. 😆 Apparently I was very, very wrong.

Today also marks the start of our full summer hours! For the next six weeks, you’ll find us here daily from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM.

The shop is full of goodies, our summer friends are beginning to arrive, and the village is coming alive for another season. We’re looking forward to a busy, joyful summer and hope you’ll stop in and say hello.

Happy summer, everyone! 🌊🐟☀️

❤️ Happy Father’s Day ❤️

In honor of Father’s Day, I thought I’d share one of my favorite photos of my dad and me. I’m guessing it was taken around 1982 at a party at our house, and I am forever grateful to whoever snapped it because I don’t have many pictures of just the two of us.

I can’t celebrate with him in person today, but I’ll be thinking about him—a lot—as I do every day.

I’m also lucky to be surrounded by so many wonderful fathers in my life: my husband, my son-in-law, my brothers-in-law, and so many great dads who lead by example every day.

Being a dad is no small job, but it may be one of the most important ones there is.

So today, Happy Father’s Day to all of you—whether you’re celebrating with your dad, celebrating as a dad, or remembering someone you love. 💙

I hope your day is filled with love, laughter, delicious food, and a few good memories.

✨ It’s time for another Friday Artist Feature. For the past several weeks we’ve been introducing artists who joined us through our recent artist call, but this week we’re circling back to a longtime Two Fish favorite.

We’re excited to share a beautiful new piece from Michigan artist Brian Waline—a vintage travel-style poster featuring our very own Van’s Beach.

A proud Michigander, Brian spent his childhood summers in Frankfort, just down the road from Leland. His work is inspired by the special connection people have to the places they love. As Brian puts it:

“People have deep and tender attachments to places, and my goal is to distill that sentiment so that when they see my art in their home or office, they are connected back to the feeling of a special place and time.”

💙 We think this Van’s Beach poster captures that feeling perfectly. Stop in and take a look—we have a feeling this one is going to speak to a lot of people. Can’t make it to Leland? It’s also available on our website under Wall Art.

And if Van’s Beach holds a special place in your heart, we’d love to hear your favorite memory in the comments!

Good morning, friends!

It’s a cold, rainy, blustery day here in the Land of Delight, but we’ve got plenty of brightness and cheer waiting for you inside. I just unpacked a stack of colorful gift bags and wrapping paper, and they seem to be doing their best to brighten things up around here.

If summer forgot to show up today, at least you can spend a few minutes wandering a cheerful little gift shop.

We’re open every day from 10–8, and this feels like the perfect day to pick up a new puzzle, find a great book, or grab a few cards and finally catch up with those friends you’ve been meaning to write.

It’s been a busy week around here between volunteering at the Wine & Food Festival and being a little under the weather. I’m especially grateful for our amazing Two Fish team, who have kept everything running smoothly while I’ve been taking things a bit slower.

Lots of fun things are in the works, and we can’t wait to share them with you soon.

Until then, stay cozy, stay dry, and have a wonderful day!

It’s time for another Friday Artist Introduction!

With the Leland Wine & Food Festival happening this weekend (do you have your tickets?!) it seemed like the perfect time to spotlight one of our new artists from our annual artist call, Sapphire Wood Studio.

Owner Amanda Stephenson grew up in nearby Empire and now lives in Tennessee, but Northern Michigan continues to inspire her work. Together with her husband, Amanda creates beautiful wine bottle stoppers, coasters, and other home accents using stones collected from the shores of Lake Michigan.

Their goal is simple: to create pieces that people fall in love with—and we think they’ve succeeded. Each piece captures a little bit of the beauty of our Great Lakes and makes a wonderful reminder of time spent along the water.

Whether you’re headed to the Wine & Food Festival or simply dreaming of your favorite Lake Michigan beach, these pieces bring a little bit of Northern Michigan home.

The other side of the bridge 💙

This morning, my lovely friend Barbara shared this with me. I loved it so much, I’m sharing it with you! Happy Tuesday, Two Fish friends.

Today
BY BILLY COLLINS

If ever there were a spring day so perfect,
so uplifted by a warm intermittent breeze

that it made you want to throw
open all the windows in the house

and unlatch the door to the canary's cage,
indeed, rip the little door from its jamb,

a day when the cool brick paths
and the garden bursting with peonies

seemed so etched in sunlight
that you felt like taking

a hammer to the glass paperweight
on the living room end table,

releasing the inhabitants
from their snow-covered cottage

so they could walk out,
holding hands and squinting

into this larger dome of blue and white,
well, today is just that kind of day.

June.

In my mind, June is the true beginning of summer. It starts off relatively calm, but by the end of the month, life is moving at full speed.

The weather is gorgeous—crisp, cool mornings, flowers finally settling in and showing off, and our summer neighbors gradually making their way back north. This early morning view of our quiet little town has me soaking in the calm while it lasts.

June is full of milestones: kids finishing school, graduations, the last games of the season, and the excitement of summer vacations just beginning.

And here in Leland, one of our biggest traditions is right around the corner. The Leland Wine & Food Festival is just 13 days away! 🍷☀️

For now, I’ll be over here enjoying these quiet mornings while I still can. 😊
