Hey there friends! It’s been a while so I will start spilling the tea….
I don’t even know where to start but, this year made 11 years since I first started my consignment business. I am forever grateful for the journey. About 3 years ago, I was in a place where I was getting burned out and desperately needed a break but I forced myself to keep going. There were a few times on and off I did take breaks (if you remember some of the inconsistencies). I made changes, hired some help (which is what I needed) and also had the thought of selling.
Fast forward, I finally made the decision to sell the business : ( but I still had a lot of work that needed to be done to make it a successful transition to the new buyer, so I continued to work in the business. My goal at that time was to work on the business and not in the business which is a huge difference. I stepped down from CEO and focused more of what I thought would scale the business. However, I still loved and adored my business but there was a need for a change.
Fast forward again, after meeting a few people who had interests in buying the business, I couldn’t find a serious buyer…..until I offered it to someone who had a similar business, and I thought was the perfect fit. I was almost at the finish line and the deal fell apart 😞
Moving along, if you noticed the name changes from Sheree & Co. Designer Consignment to Sheree & Co. Luxury Consignment to then Sheree & Co. I was in the processes of making plans to leave but I continued on because I still had to serve some of my bag babes and had to work under a name while it was in transition period. I knew the new owner would have to change the name, so I kept mine until then…..I was so all over the place.
So, I finally made the decision to put everything on hold instead of being inconsistent and neglecting the business. I was still selling bags but lowkey to whoever reached out because I didn’t have plans on keeping the business and didn’t want to promote Sheree & Co. After long nights and days and major decision making, although some of this was in the plan. I made a decision!!! There was no way I could leave the industry completely, so I decided to partner with some major companies in the same industry. I moved into the B2B sector where I only sell to other consignment or resale shops as their Wholesaler!!! This will allow me to access tons of bags to offer in bundles to other shops.
So yes, I am still selling bags but to businesses only! It’s less work, less overhead, and much more manageable as other parts of my personal life has changed also. I am currently a Business Broker, which means I help people buy and sell businesses (makes sense right lol) From selling Bags to now selling Businesses.
One last thing….
I say all of that to say….I’m still here!!!! You all have been there or most have been since day 1 and I am so thankful for you! To not make it a conflict of interest, I will still be able to offer you bags but only to my VIP members. So, if you receive an email from me, yes you are a VIP member!! I will not promote on social media, but I will offer exclusive deals to you by email only. This is an exclusive deal to only you. I will update you with bags & accessories on a monthly basis. My website is currently in “freeze” status but you will be able to shop via invoice.
Ending with a happy message
