Just a little tidbit on a vintage item in our store…..
‘The Howdy Doody Show’ appeared on tv’s across the country in the early 1950’s. The show was sponsored by the Welch’s grape juice/jam company. Welch’s created the Howdy Doody glasses to drive sales of their jelly/jam by making the glasses in vibrant, colorful images of characters, including Howdy Doody, Clarabell, and Princess Fall Summer Winter Spring.

The glasses are sought after for having a surprise embossed image of a character's face on the bottom. They were called ‘Swanky Swigs’.
