Meet our Bellwether Roaster!

As we prepared to launch our newest social enterprise, we wanted a roasting system that would allow us to consistently produce exceptional coffee while creating a welcoming and accessible environment for participant training and skill development.

The Bellwether gives us the ability to carefully craft each batch of Origin Story, bringing out the notes that make our signature blend so special. It also allows us to roast with incredible consistency, ensuring every bag delivers the same quality experience our customers can count on. And, most importantly, our staff and participants are having a pretty awesome time working with it!

Over the coming weeks, this machine will play a central role as participants learn new skills, workflows continue to take shape, and ECHO Coffee Roasters moves closer to launch.

Meet Origin Story, the signature blend of ECHO Coffee Roasters.

Developing this coffee blend wasn't something we rushed. It took months of testing, tasting, note-taking, and refining as our team worked to create a blend that felt distinctly ECHO. We shared countless cups, experimented with different combinations, and kept coming back to one question:

"Would we want another cup?"

The answer became Origin Story.

Crafted from coffees sourced from four countries of origin, this carefully balanced blend delivers notes of chocolate, almond, and citrus with a smooth, approachable profile you'll want to return to again and again.

Whether you prefer a Medium Roast or a Dark Roast, Origin Story was designed to be more than just a great cup of coffee. It was designed to pour something meaningful back into our community.

So, why coffee?

The answer is simple: opportunity.

For more than 50 years, ECHO has empowered adults with disabilities to achieve their optimal level of personal, social, and economic success. As demand for our services continues to grow, so does the need for meaningful places where individuals with disabilities can learn, contribute, earn a paycheck, and take pride in their work.

ECHO Coffee Roasters was created to help meet that need.
From roasting and packaging to inventory management, labeling, fulfillment, and quality control, this new worksite will provide participants with hands-on opportunities to develop valuable workplace skills in a supportive environment.

Of course, we're also passionate about creating a great cup of coffee. But at its heart, ECHO Coffee Roasters is about the people we serve.

What started as an idea to create more meaningful employment opportunities for adults with disabilities has grown into ECHO's newest social enterprise. We're so excited to finally share it with you!

Over the coming weeks, we'll take you behind the scenes as we test roasts, train participants, refine workflows, and prepare for launch. Along the way, you'll meet the people, passion, and purpose behind every bag of coffee.

We're just getting started, and we can't wait for you to be part of the journey.
