Christ said he is the vine, and we are branches.

What happens when a branch breaks itself off and leaves the vine?

He invites us back. He knows what it's like for us to be away from him.

He willingly suffered and paid for our debts...the debts we incur when we separate ourselves from him.

Have you ever heard someone who went through a difficult trial say afterwards that they wouldn't change a thing?

We can learn and grow so much from hard things.

Welcome to the University of Life! Complete with difficult homework, excruciating exams, and the most loving & wise Guidance Counselor in the universe!

He provides text books and assignments, but He does not send bad things. No, that "extra-credit" suffering I sign up for myself, usually by thinking that I know better than God does.

That's called humble pie, which is always in great demand at the school cafeteria!

What does it mean to remember Jesus Christ deeply enough?

Remember that he calmed the stormy sea, so he can calm the storms in your life.

Remember his love and words with the woman at the well and the woman taken in adultery; He guided them in ways that would change their lives, and bring them peace.

Remember how he loved God with all his heart, might, and soul...and showed it by obeying Him in all things.

Remember Jesus healed the blind, paralyzed, mentally ill, and raised people from the dead---He has power to heal, to make us whole spiritually, and to make things work out for the best.

Vincent Van Gogh struggled, and yet the Lord didn't take away his challenges---at least not while he was alive.

This life is like the 2nd act of a 3-Act play. Without Act 1 we don't understand why things are the way they are. Without Act 3 we don't see how beautifully everything will work out.

We need to trust that the Lord knows, loves us, and if we strive to follow his example and instructions he has the plan and power to make it work out BETTER THAN WE CAN EVEN IMAGINE.
