I gave myself a Skeletor inspired manicure (side note: I'm a HUGE of the universe fan), which proved to be fortuitous as my nails also match the new book that I have been eagerly waiting for the library to get in. I finished my nails and P**F! Maybe I should start making themed nails for all the books I want to appear?

How would I do nails inspired by all of my favorite mashed up into one book?

My current read, Sully and Lindsey from Library Lover's Mystery series will have to be put on hold temporarily (Pun intended which you'll get if you read the series! Also if you're reading the series you'll know putting them down is NOT an easy thing to do!) while I dive into The Faraway Inn!!

My life is just awash with phenomenal authors and their works right now. What a gift!

Looking back through an old workbook the kids did many many summer ago. How unhinged and delightful is this illustration? Almost the whole workbook is filled with this whimsy.

Who's the illustrator for the activity books?

I want to know the story here AND I think we need to go out and buy more workbooks.

First day of summer break, kicking off summer reading with the sister and I doing a co-read.

Back to the library. The Elsewhere Express was DEFINITELY a judge a book by its cover situation.

Doesn't it just scream Spirited Away?

Our library allows us to chase all of our wildest book dreams. The Dragon Girls series has been a fun one to read with sister.

Yesterday we skipped our school's field trip to... go on the field trip.

Why?

Sister wanted more time to wander through our capitol's library.

Then one of the visitor center's staff helped us go through all of their free history cards until we found the card for Annie Diggs, the woman who helped design this library.

We had such a book and woman positive day. I loved every minute of it with my girl.

QOTD is from sister as she looked at Phyllis Pease's mural, "When the women did big things they included everyone."

This morning's breakfast is inspired by Althea's banana bread, which is mentioned about 600,000 times in this really good book Buried in a Book by Lucy Arlington.

So happy to continue the story at one of my favorite coffee shops,

Today I started the process of removing all of the AI created content and images from Peony Books.

It's important that when we know that we've made a mistake and that we're not contributing to the greater good of our communities that we call ourselves out and make changes.

At first I thought AI was really helpful. It helped me survive a job where there were completely unrealistic expectations. I loved the way that I could bounce off ideas to AI and it would help me w**d out directions in my thought process that weren't helpful.

I realize now all of the harm that AI is doing. And maybe AI itself is not harmful, but like with most things it's what the wealthy does with AI that is harmful. It's the wealthiest members of our communities spin on everything that does the harm.

I've just had enough of the extreme measures put onto our lives in the name of wealth hoarding.

This is my promise to everyone on this page and anyone who interacts with Peony Books. We're looking at everything now with the lens of an orca whale on menopause. Any action that doesn't cause the sinking of a billionaires yacht, doesn't have a place here.

That means AI doesn't have a place here. We will not be featuring AI created content. We will not be featuring authors or events or businesses that utilize AI. Further, we're going to be looking more into publishers, businesses, and any other entity that we're promoting. If they're doing anything to support the 1%, they're not getting promoted here.

I know this is kind of a catch-22 because we are on Facebook and Instagram. So just know there may come a time when Peony Books no longer exists on social media (is it even really social media anymore? Or have we all finally figured out that these horrible people have been playing the long game in fooling and using us all?) We're taking the plunge into the Kool-Aid but it's going to be a minute until we can make the full shift and know that we're still able to connect people with books and the book community.

If you have any tips or tricks to switching to an analog lifestyle (as the kids are calling it these days), please share in the comments. I'm calling it rescuing society from billion
