I have a quick question for my customers (or anyone else who wants to give their 2 cents). I do not use palm oil in my soaps because I believe not all palm oils are ethically sourced even if they say they are. Palm oil is used in soap to make a harder and longer lasting bar. In lieu of palm oil, I use sodium lactate (which is just fermented sugars from renewable resources like corn or beets). My soaps may not last as long as soaps made with palm oil. I also only charge $6 a bar when I've been noticing other soap vendors selling their soap for $9 or more!
Would you prefer soap that is made from ethically sourced materials that don't last as long or would you rather me incorporate palm oil, raise my price, and have a longer lasting bar?
