In 2021 I attended a floral workshop as a "flower farmer" not as a designer without ever growing one flower. I didn't even have the house and space I am growing in now.
I did feel like an imposter, but I believe in living in who you want to become.
I had already read Kristine's dahlia breeding book, but I didn't know she was going to be a guest at the event.
If you don't already know of her, you should definitely follow her for all the amazing work she is ding with dahlias.
I was so enamored when I met her. I told her my dream of growing flowers in Las Vegas, especially dahlias, and she made time to give me some advice and told me she believed I could.
I took me a few years to become brave enough to try dahlias, but with encouragement of (whom I have only met online), I did it!
I've been growing dahlias leisurely for 3 years now. Mostly just for observation. I definitely have a lot to learn, adjust and improve, but looking back at my picture with Kristine, I just feel so grateful and in aww of life's journey.
