my girlfriend and I booked lunch for summerlicious. I ordered the lobster bisque it was pretty good my gf ordered the BLT salad was trying to be way to complicated and fell way to short.. the main course I ordered the pork with japchae noodles would not recommend ordering this tasted like hamburger helper and not very pleasant noodles, my gf got the zucchini pasta was very good.. desert was good we both ordered the shortcake was a pretty tiny portion wish there was a little more.. service was pretty slow waited for our dessert for half an hour but, the servers were really nice always refilling your water glasses and the restaurant was beautiful and you felt like you were in a high end restaurant.. i would recommend trying out other places .

Many a Torontonian will tell you that Nota Bene is a safe bet.

At first I translated this as boring. But it was not. It was great.

The atmosphere was pleasant, buzzy but tables well spaced out.

The room is classy and modern enough at the same time.

The service felt efficient and dedicated.

The food was very good.

Every dish was well prepared and well presented.

The halibut dish was really very good. Attractive on paper, but even better in the plate.

And the sticky date pudding was WTF delicious.

Solid bet, safe choice, but exciting at the same time.

Located in a great neighbourhood of downtown Toronto, Nota Bene can accommodate almost any patron.

Their food is somewhat pricey but for the elegant elevated dishes the price is worth it to try at least once. There is a wide variety of choices and the desserts are wonderful. They even have complimentary homemade salted chocolates to end the evening.

The interior is fresh, modern, and vibrant. Both the furniture and decor help to add to the experience and the atmosphere is lively.

The servers are extremely friendly and both the kitchen staff as well as the floor staff go to great lengths to ensure your dining experience is above and beyond. Their attention to detail is superb.

A wonderful restaurant that should be on everyone list to try!

Last year, we went to Nota Bene for Summerlicious and it was by far the best participating restaurant that we visited. So, it was the first one we booked this year and we were not disappointed. Again, the selections were right off of their regular menu, not some cheap special offerings like many of the restaurants do. I had the salmon appetizer (sublime), the grilled pork chop (excellent and a very big serving) and sticky toffee pudding (my favourite dessert, I order it whenever I see it and this version was top notch). They had a special Summerlicious wine list with well priced and very good selections. Service was efficient and friendly, There's a reason we keep going back to this restaurant!

Last week my husband, brother in law, son and myself enjoyed an excellent lunch at Nota Bene. The Nova Scotia Lobster salad was the best I had ever had, My BIL agreed. My husband ordered the Sea Bass and my son the Bunless burger. Both were "great". Even though the restaurant was busy, our waiter was attentive and was able to assist us with drinks and coffee. A wonderful restaurant! we will return for sure

I'm not even sure where to start singing the praises for this restaurant! The appetizers were varied and delicious. The drinks were also delicious and the waiter took time to explain different offerings to us that would compliment our meals. My steak was cooked to perfection and it felt like it was melting in my mouth! We had the Raisin Rum Pudding for dessert...Heavenly!

The food - the service - it just doesn't get better!

I'd previously dined at Nota Bene and had a mixed experience. My companion and I had drinks and a bite to eat in the bar last night. It's a comfortable contemporary space and, when we were there on a Tuesday night after 9:00 pm, very quiet and conducive to conversation. Service is excellent, of the standard found in high end dining rooms. We were impressed.

It's expensive, however. A gin martini was $17.00 and a glass of Pinot noir $16.00. Our bill before tip for a bottle of sparkling water, 2 cocktails, 2 glasses of wine, and two delicious but smallish chanterelle salads was $ 119.78

The details for the restaurant on Trip Advisor say that it is in Chinatown. It definitely is not.

I went to nota bene with a group of girlfriends, for a bachelorette party. We've all heard a lot about this place and were excited to experience it for ourselves. Although the service was very good, I found the menu lacked variety and the portions were small especially for the prices. I ordered the cod, which was $34 and was a small piece of fish with no side dish. Needless to say, I left the restaurant very hungry and unsatisfied. Would not go back or recommend.

I was in Toronto for business, met up with some friends & we made the happy choice of this restaurant! It was fairly busy on a Wednesday evening, and we did not have a reservation, but they were more than accommodating and found us a great table (side note: chairs are cushy and comfortable). The found was outstanding! Amongst us we sampled: cod fritters, tuna tartare, vegetable plate (tender asparagus, fresh fiddleheads, sweet potato huumus, etc.), burger & fries. Everything was delicious - high quality ingredients & really interesting presentation. A definite highlight was the sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce - as our waitress (excellent, attentive service, btw) described this dessert: "life changing" - she was so right. Another bonus - despite the busy restaurant - we were able to converse & hear each other easily - huge points to whoever designed the layout and table spacing. Will definitely be back - loved this place!

I was here with a small group, and we had an excellent meal and great conversation. Basically, I would say this place does everything well. Cocktail was nice, excellent appetizer, main also interesting and delicious. Service pretty much impeccable. Good wine. Hard to find any flaws in the delivery here. Didn't knock my socks off, not a particularly adventurous menu, but a very solid choice for a nice meal.

I was back in TO for work and just heading over to the Eaton Centre to pick up a few things when I walked by Nota Bene and decided to grab a quick lunch in the bar. Thursdays lunch special is the steak sandwich which I thought would be quick and usually a good choice so I ordered it. The waitress did not ask me how I liked it and most steak sandwiches come opened face on garlic toast which is kinda the norm. I was a little surprised when it arrived in a bun which would not be my preference as I am not a fan of buns. Boy was I presently surprised to find that the bun was very fresh and light, the steak done to perfection and nicely complimented with some greens, portobello mushroom, a special sauce and some granular mustard. Wow, just wow. Amazing and probably the best steak sandwich I have ever had. Would recommend it to all. The glass of Ontario Pinot Gris on this sweltering day was a great choice to finish off.

I visited Nota Bene before attending the ballet at the Four Seasons Centre and it was delightful. I would love to return on another occasion when not as hurried and order from the full menu. The pre-ballet menu was well conceived and everything arrived promptly as promised, so we were even able to make it to the pre-show talk. Food was delicious and well-prepared and the service and atmosphere was excellent. I am very much looking forward to my next visit.
