Working on my pedal board…Still need some flatter connection cables so I can fit all the pieces on it. Right to left, the audio line matching transformer to bump from the lo-z DF5 pickup to the hi-z input on the graphic eq…. Then onto the TC Electronics Hall of Fame reverb(vastly superior to the verbs in my amps and mixer)… next is a Lekato looper(haven’t got the hang of that thing yet), then an old Ibanez delay line and finally a volume pedal. Very quiet so far…. I’ll include a sample track later today.

In my yard this morning…. Yes, a snapping turtle. We’re about a mile from the Pawnee River; book says she was getting ready to lay eggs. VERY aggressive.

Working with the pedalboard. This is not the final iteration. From right to left, input to output. You can see the line transformer from the lo-z DF5. That’s into a 10 band graphic, then looper pedal, on to an old Ibanez delay line and finally out thru a volume pedal. All are mounted an a tray via Velcro. Powered by an outboard supply. So far, VERY quiet. Using the reverb in my amps. Just getting started with the looper.

A recording of the DF5 into the low-impedance input on a Fishman Loudbox mini, then straight into a Zoom R4 from the input strip. No preamp or buffering, with the inputs set flat and reverb at 12'0clock. The following post is into the high impedance inputs of the Fishman, same amp settings. The point of this is to show the versatility of the DF5....that is....high or low z inputs and the ability to drive either with no front end mod of the pickup system. SIMPLE. The hi-z input is a bit quieter, but not enough difference that it's not usable.

Recording the DF5 into a hi impedance input on the Fishman Loudbox Mini. No added buffering, preamp or outboard gear whatsoever. EQ is flat with reverb set at 12 o'clock. Then straight into the Zoom R4 recorder. The point here is this is a low impedance pickup into hi-z. With no add-ons.

New recording of the DF5. This is from an Eastman E20D....Straight through to the Zoom R4 recorder....no EQ, just a touch of reverb. I' using the hi-z input on the recorder and no buffering or outboard tricks. Just pure guitar tone. This should help show the versatility of the DF5 interface; so easy to use. So if you're interested in natural acoustic guitar sound, have a listen....

Finally figured out how to go "direct" with my DF 5 pickup system No microphone, just the pickup direct to the recorder...so no mic coloring of the signal. Just pure guitar tone. Let me know what you hear!!

The Eastman E10SS using the Dynafield 5 direct to recorder. Just a touch of reverb added.
