🚨The Trump Justice Department has arrested Heidi Beirich, the longtime Southern Poverty Law Center Intelligence Project director and leading expert on far-right extremism, on federal fraud charges tied to SPLC payments to informants inside white supremacist groups.
Prosecutors claim Beirich oversaw donor funds funneled through shell companies to sources inside neo-N*zi organizations—including one informant with whom she allegedly shared a home and bank account. The case forms part of a broader DOJ crackdown on the SPLC under Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel.
Beirich spent years documenting the very networks that have repeatedly shown up around Trump: the Charlottesville “very fine people,” dinner guests like Nick Fuentes, Kanye West, and the broader white-nationalist orbit that has treated the MAGA movement as a recruiting ground.
This arrest didn’t happen in a vacuum. Former Chief of Staff John Kelly has publicly stated that Trump told him “H*tler did a lot of good things” and expressed a desire for generals as loyal as H*tler’s. Meanwhile, the FBI under Patel has scaled back staffing and tracking of domestic terrorism investigations that historically focused on right-wing extremists—the category responsible for the large majority of politically motivated murders in the United States in recent decades.
Tracking neo-N*zis is now treated as the greater threat than the neo-N*zis themselves. And Epstein’s client list? Still being shielded by Trump and Blanche.
