Sunday Chat:
This morning I have a few minutes before we leave for church and I was scrolling FB….of course. I was reading news and comments from our former location, Lititz. That brings up so many emotions. Missing people and a building/garden I loved. And remembering events we hosted and enjoyed so much.
Yesterday our friend, Kimberly Kunkle Spangler, came into the shop and it flashed me back to our first meeting when Kim participated in a Garden Event. I appreciate, so much, the fact that our relationships and friendships did not end with our move to Lampeter.
Coming up soon four of our Lititz friends are taking a private class with us in Lampeter. If you first met us in Lititz and you still come around you are such a blessing to us. No joke! There are many of you and I notice with a grateful heart.
That brings me to the absolute love I have for our current location, as well! It’s so much closer to my home, for one thing. 🙂 It’s stunningly beautiful and the gardens are what we only dreamed of doing in Lititz due to lack of time.
Every day we meet new friends and it’s our heart’s desire that each one will connect and feel the community that is so special. We like to keep our friends forever. ❤️ Whether you are an occasional shopper, a connected artisan or a frequent class attendee, you are why we are here. Please continue spreading the word as we grow best by word of mouth.

Sunday Chat: “A collection of beautiful things”… it’s our tag line because when we opened in 2017 it happened so quickly that there really wasn’t time to figure out what exactly we would carry. But I knew one thing…it would all be beautiful.
Over the years my husband has marveled at our success. As he puts it, “No one needs what you sell.” Well, I beg to differ. Some of us, not just women, NEED our fix of beauty. Whether it comes from nature, a well crafted piece of jewelry or gorgeous home decor.
We have stayed committed to that goal. Some of my favorite moments are the first timers who come up the stairs….or out of the elevator. When an unexpected exclamation of surprise and appreciation comes out I just feel thankful and a real connection.
There have been many who enjoy it so quietly and intensely that I have been concerned. But some of those individuals have surprised me with their loyal support and love of every inch.
I may drive my artisans crazy by insisting on blending the items across the shop but it seems to work.
This week a sweet first timer came out of the elevator with enthusiastic exclamations and said she felt like she was in a high end apartment building in NYC and the elevator opened right into someone’s home. 🙂
The pictures on this post are from this weekend. The first was from our walk after the storm last night. Today we went out to Susquehannock Park. It was a great day for that. The part of my soul that is connected through my eyes has been satisfied.

Sunday Thoughts:
I absolutely adore our artisans. I grew up in a home with an extraordinarily talented artist, my brother. And whenever he was being promoted, or had events, his art was so very easy to sell. Often on multi day events we would sell out of his cards and we would be folding and packaging each evening for the next day. But more often nothing sold because there was no one sharing the art. If there was no event there was no activity. My brother was perfectly fine with that because he truly made art for the joy of it. But my dad was a promoter through and through and saw the potential to share the art. It drove him a bit bonkers to have such a crazy talented unexploited opportunity. 🙂
I believe I am more like my dad than my brother. But I’ve seen both sides! And love the heart behind both.
As a secondary business called Greetings From Hospitality Lane, I also strive to promote artists by way of cards and prints. Not just in our boutique but across the country.
Recently I met Judith Murray. She makes water color originals. I asked permission to turn them into cards and prints. This is one I did this evening. It’s a stunning everyday notecard. I’ll likely use this design as a birthday and Anniversary card as well.
Judi, in turn, brought 6 friends to lunch and shop last week. One of those friends is a soft pastel artist who has no prints but left THREE ORIGINAL pieces with us. They are positively stunning. Come and visit them in the new gallery space. It’s beginning to be “something”.
It’s absolutely amazing the things we bring from our past into the present. Some of them are even helpful. 😆
We are open 9-5 Monday through Saturday. Spread the word….we still hear weekly that it is thought we are only open cafe hours. That makes me a bit bonkers. 😂 9-5. 9-5. 😂 We have our own entrance. Just past the Joe on the Go Coffee Co entrance.

More changes….these with the help of Roy and Merryn. This morning I was concerned about how easy it was to push the settee back into the shelves behind it. About that time Roy pulled out the measuring tape that he had decided to bring to the shop today and asked me what he should measure. I suggested he measure the display cabinet that was holding the Roseside Studios Shells and photos by Mike Occionero. Then he measured the settee. Super close in size. So….the kids started “bugging” to switch the pieces. 😆 We may have created some retail display monsters, ahem…helpers over the years. Before I knew it we had made the switch and I’m loving it!!
Mike O’s photos are now super easy to see in the gallery room. Enjoy!!
The last photo is showing prepared gift bags for a second shopping group who RSVP’d that they are coming tomorrow for lunch at Joe on the Go Coffee Co and then up to visit us.
Feel free to put your group of 5+ shoppers together and…..let us know in advance….that you are coming and we will prepare goody bags for you as well. 🙂
