Dark Forest Chocolate is Western New York’s first “bean-to bar” chocolate maker offering soy-free and nut-free chocolate to the Buffalo area. Bean-to-bar chocolate features the complex flavors of the cacao beans that vary by region of origin and botanical variety. Dark Forest Chocolate makes bars directly from the finest sourced cacao beans available. And by making chocolate in small batches using

limited ingredients, we bring out the unique flavors of each type. Visit our shop located at 11 West Main St., just across from Lancaster Opera House, see how small-batch chocolate is made, and sample our varieties. We offer nut-free, soy-free, and gluten-free chocolate bars. Vegan bars are also available. Besides the Lancaster store, our chocolate is available at these fine establishments:

After much reflection, Dark Forest chocolate will be closing on April 4, 2026, as we are retiring. Thank you for being our customers for the past 11 years.

We have loved being part of the Village of Lancaster and we're so grateful for the community support, the many awards, and all the good memories we've made together.

One of our greatest joys was being able to serve people with soy and nut allergies, helping everyone feel safe and included when enjoying chocolate. And we're proud to have used ethically sourced cacao beans, supporting farmers and producers of the "food of the gods."

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey.
