Tomorrow is the big makers market fair at Lancaster Catholic High School football stadium. I’m posting a few of the new items I’ll be selling. I have a drawer full of kid bracelets, and a creepy spider pendent for Halloween. I’ve made lots of LCHS football accessories and some pro football color bracelets and earrings. I will be taking orders for you special team. Of course I have lots of book accessories and something called a book hook. Hope to see you there tomorrow it sounds like a fun day full of fun for the kids and lots of product vendors and food trucks.

There’s only fourteen days left before I set up for my next Makers Market fair. I’m excited because it will be held at my alumni Lancaster Catholic High School (LCHS). I’m hoping to see my classmates as well as friends come out to help support this new endeavor. Part of the proceeds are going to help support the football athletic program.

I got an unexpected sweet response from Sue, who was the winner of my book drawing. I asked her permission to share it and she gave me her blessing. She writes:
Connie Sue, Matroni here! I am the one that won your book! I am not a reader, but because I won, I thought I would give it a read! I really did enjoy your writing! And I must ask if you went to Lancaster Catholic? Father Lavelle was our chaplain at LCHS. I graduated in 1972 from there. Your book is easy to read, and for a nonreader, I read it quickly! Those years were my years, also! Thanks for pulling my name. ❤️

My next Makers Market Fair will be at Lancaster Catholic High where Tom and I went to school. It will be held at the football stadium. Hope to see our fellow classmates and friends come out to help support the authletic programs.

At my recent Makers Market fair, I had a drawing to win my book, called The Promise. I got thirteen entries and drew the winner at the end of the day. That lucky person was Susan Matroni. Thank you, Susan, for taking an interest in my book.

My first Makers Market fair.

I have no complaints. I went into this knowing that all the practice runs I made would not compare with what I would learn at my first fair. So everything I came away with was a plus for me. It was a perfect day but quite windy at times, and my bracelet platform fell over three times, damaging some of my products, but I'm glad to say I did not cry. I learned how to set things up better for next time, and took lots of notes.

Here's the good news. At 70 years old, I feel alive and excited about doing something new. Every day is an opportunity to improve what I'm doing.

I bet you're wondering, what's Connie up to now?
I was selling my book thongs and other jewelry on Etsy, and it wasn't worth the money I was losing. I still have a lot of products that I've made, and I'm not ready to stop making them; I love the creative outlet it gives me. I saw an ad for crafty people called the Maker Market. It's a place where I can sell through various vendor opportunities locally. I'm already signed up for three shows, possibly one more before Christmas. I can't wait. I'm so excited about trying this new venture; if it goes well, I'll carry it on into the spring again.
Hay! Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Having something new to look forward to makes me feel alive.
Please keep your eyes on this. I'll be sharing each event as it gets a little closer.
