First--all the DVDs are gone--a guy came and bought them all--we made him a good deal. Whoot! Next, I am going to start making occasional comments about other businesses in Lamar. Tomorrow, Wednesday, is the grand opening of a little shop on East Elm, I think it is called Mom's. Please go over after after 11 and wish them success.

Summer is when you start working on December projects, right? We have some Christmas themed cloth should you be needing it. We still have wood to paint or rocks if you need to keep the kiddos busy. When we get partly colored coloring books we take out the unused pages and sell them for 5 cents each. We have several hundred to choose from! Also we have a few packs of colored pencils if you need 'em.

A sudden influx of DVDs means we have seven boxes of movies and a sale! Three for a dollar. Most are family friendly: kids movies, family movies and a few horror movies like The Fog. They appear to have been taken care of well.

New to the shop, lots of vintage Wilton cake decorating yearbooks! Also, for jewelry making, some new chains and findings, and as usual a lot of beads. Also, we have a few Bibles and devotionals just in. Not old enough to be called vintage, tho. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 1 to 5, and Tuesdays 10 to 12:30.

I don't even know what these are for, but I have 10 packs of odd cards. They come sealed in a small white envelope, with a label on one side "Promptings" and they could be used for games or writing prompts. Each 5" x 3" card is red on one side with the word Promptings and on the other side each has a very odd picture, each different. 30 cards in each pack, not suitable for young children as several of the cards are sort of spooky or have semi-nudity. I just opened a second pack, and the designs here are different, with several of them having printed prompts instead of pictures. The printed ones were done on a computer and have been pasted in, which makes me wonder, but the picture ones are nicely done. I dunno, but if you know what they are can you tell me, and if you actually want some, drop by!

We have had a large influx of classic titles lately, including over 50 books in the Great Books collection (paperbacks) from the middle of the last century. Some of these came from the collection of Dixie Munro, English teacher here in Lamar, beloved by many. Also, many cat books and a great deal of hardware. Also, we have three pieces of art given to us. Sort of 3-D oddities. Free to anyone who wants them.

THree things. We have items that would make a good Mother's Day gifts, especially if you need glassware or figurines. On a completely different subject, if you have what is called a grid display system, we have grid hooks to sell. Also, gardening books--it's time to plan your planting!

I want to apologize today (5-5-26) for closing down and forgetting to turn off the open sign. Or turn out the lights for that matter. I'm back now and we will be open until five. Oopsie kitty!

A wallpaper sample book is one of the coolest things a paper artist or a person working with kids can have on hand. The pages can be used for collage, backing for framing, paper mache, folding, (into envelopes) card making, scrapbooking, and about anything else paper can be used for, except maybe origami. We have five to choose from. All are used but have many pages left. One is textured, one has a few cowboy scenes. We also have misc. craft supplies.
