The Scale Shipyard is celebrating 40 years of service to the scale model warship modeler.

On April 7th 1979, after months of preparation work, I decided to start this company.

The Scale Shipyard / Warship Hulls Unlimited is the acknowledged leader in providing true scale model ship hulls. Since 1979, we have been designing and fabricating the highest quality fiberglass model ship hulls and cast fittings to meet the demanding needs of the most exacting scale warship hobbyist.
I founded this company because, as an avid builder of model ships, most of the hulls I came across did not have either the accuracy or quality I sought. My goal from the very beginning is to provide you, the Modeler, with authentic hulls and components of the highest quality. This is accomplished through extensive research, strictly adhering to official naval sources and shipyard drawings whenever possible to construct the master patterns from which all of my hulls are molded and crafted by hand.

The same quality molded hulls that are available to you through our catalog can also be found in prestigious museums around the world, as well as in the U.S. Navy’s model shops and research labs. Our products continue to be the choice of professional model builders in government, industry and entertainment. In fact, many of our customer’s models have gone on to win top awards in static and R/C competition both here and abroad.
