The weekend starts tomorrow at SmartyPlants! Come in Friday to beat the crowds — we're open till 5pm. Every Saturday is now Coffee In The Garden Day: sit inside at the cafe or take your coffee on a stroll and find a bench in the garden. Cafe Tico is pouring their custom iced coffees, lattes and kid-friendly drinks all weekend.

I’m the owner. Mike is the one who actually knows things.

One month into this, I thought I’d walk the nursery and name what I saw. Mike has been here fifteen years, and he followed me the entire way, correcting almost every one of them. Cheerfully. Loudly.

Here’s the thing though. This is exactly why I wanted to do it on camera. Anyone can learn a plant list eventually. What you can’t shortcut is fifteen years of watching what actually lives here, what struggles in August, what a customer really needs when they say “something for the front.”

So when you come in and someone points you to the right plant in ten seconds, that’s not a lucky guess. That’s Mike, and Cindy, and Paula, and Joy, and the rest of this team.

Ask for them by name. I’ll be over here getting corrected.

Thanks to two little gardeners, Teddy and Luca, everyone enjoyed a free popsicle on this warm August afternoon. They were given the challenge of finding GaLinda and they came through! 🐓 superfood.hub
