Grandma started me on the old treadle machine when I was 10, believe it or not we would use cattail fuzz as batting. As a young teen she helped me to finish my great grandmothers quilt. I had to lean applique & make 4 squares of a Sun Bonnet Girl with a garden basket. Yes, we used cereal box carboard & learned needle turning, along with embroidery. I cherish the quilt to this day & can still pick

the four squares I made. In " 2006" I started my own store, retired in "2022", moved to Texas from Montana. Now enjoy finishing my quilts, making custom quilts for folks, love to make amazing T-Shirt quilts, repairing damaged quilts old or new, finishing old quilts for folks & long-arming. My quilt "cave" looks out onto the canal that flows into the Gulf Coast & I love watching for gators & turtles while working, in the evening, I can listen to the singing frogs. My favorites quilts to make are Stars, Miniatures, Scrappy & T-Shirt for those avid shirt collectors. Next, I would love to add teaching classes, something I enjoyed doing in my store.

In 2013, at the AQS QuiltWeek show in Paducah, Renae Haddadin and Karen Kay Buckley were awarded the Janome of America Best Of Show Award for their quilt FIESTA MEXICO.

The quilt top took Karen a year to design and appliqué and Renae an additional year to quilt.

A must see. Pattern is Ruby Tuesday, designed by Kay Cook. It is a wonderful Mystery Quilt. It is wonderful & beautiful…..But look at my stunning colors. You just can not beat a Red & White quilt! Well blue & white might. Thank you Kay

Hi everyone..spring has sprung here..70-80 degrees….they all call it winter. Got our raised garden up planted & growing. Thought I would send you some pictures. Getting a lot of awesome things done,,,, the t-shirt quilts were fun. Dad wanted a large one for his son& left overs used for arriving granddaughter. Oh he was the track coach for his sons high school. Blue & white was a custom made. She picked the fabric & told me to surprise her. Can’t go wrong with stars. Have been doing quite a bit of longarming too. Miss all of you

Meet my four new sewing students, Jordan, Lilly, & Janel. First leaning to see an almost straight line so made pot holders. Saturday after Thanksgiving we gathered at 10 am until 2 pm & 3 magic pillow case they did make. Best part was watching them pick their own fabrics. You guys are awesome!
