Celebrate Mother’s Day at Ku‘ia Chocolate Factory! 💕🍫

Tomorrow only, we’ll have chocolate covered strawberries in the cafe! Enjoy alongside free chocolate tasting flights upstairs, ocean views, and handcrafted cocktails perfect for Mom - including MauiWine’s sparkling Lokelani Rosé and our Maui Bloom cocktail, finished with dried Lokelani rose petals in honor of Maui’s official flower 🌹

We’ll have walk-in space available upstairs in the pavilion all day, so come relax with chocolate, desserts, drinks, and a beautiful view in Lahaina.

Big news from Lahaina 🌱🍫

Our cacao farm has officially received designation from the Heirloom Cacao Preservation Fund - becoming just the 21st cacao origin in the world to earn this recognition since the organization was founded in 2012!

This designation is awarded to cacao with flavor profiles considered both exceptional and unique. Samples are processed into standardized 70% chocolate and evaluated through blind tastings by an international panel of specialty chocolate experts.

The panel described our cacao as having:

“a vibrant, refreshing fruitiness - ranging from zesty citrus, tamarind, and mango to rich notes of raisin and plum - which transitions into a lingering floral and herbal finish.”

After selection, the cacao undergoes genetic testing through the USDA to identify the unique genetic makeup contributing to those flavors. Our team had already spent years identifying and genotyping many of the distinctive trees growing here on our Lahaina farm.

We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition and proud to represent Maui among such a small group of cacao origins worldwide 🌺
