So I’ve noticed that when I post travel pics, it gets a lot of likes but when I post about a story I’ve written, it gets practically none. This bothers me because pictures of me dressed up in Paris don’t represent achievement, hard work or perseverance but my stories do. And I’m really proud of my stories so I want to post about them but I’m a millennial so I’m also programmed to pathologically need likes. So in an attempt to get validation on the internet but also promote things I’m proud of, I will be posting about my stories using travel pics.
In the first story of an investigative series, I took a deep dive through Campus Safety records and found that our dorms, accounted for over 25% of all incidents on campus. Please click the link in my bio to read the story.

Bonjour from Paris! Just finished my first week as part of a five week trip. I’m am studying French Immersion at the American University of Paris which is both the French language and culture. One of my favorite things about journalism is getting to interview people way smarter and way more knowledgeable than I am and having their insight change my perspective and sometimes my opinion. For the I was tasked with explaining the incredibly complicated war in Ukraine to readers who otherwise might not be informed, so I spoke to a variety of local experts including a postdoctoral fellow from USC and a professor from Cal State Fullerton who is an expert in the laws and ethics of war. Click the link in my bio to find out what they had to say. Writing this story was right up my alley because I want to be a foreign correspondent someday concentrating on the politics of Europe. This is the biggest conflict on European soil since WW2 and has the power to affect all our lives. Where is goes from here, nobody knows. We simply wait and see.

Sanctions were never going to work because Putin doesn't care about economic consequences from his actions. He and his cronies are so rich that they'll be unaffected. Ultimately his goal is the restoration of the Soviet Union. We know this because he's on record saying so for 20 years. He attacked Ukraine because with its resources it's crucial to the reunification of the USSR. If the international community does not stop him, then he will invade others and we will be right back to 1939. We have to support the people of Ukraine with whatever they ask for for the sake of free democracy.

I sat down with the incredible ahead of her dynamic performance at the showcase on November 4. Her sound is pure pop rock glory with thrumming percussion and emotionally vulnerable lyrics. With the way my schedule worked out, I ended up bringing Weenut with me and I really think she made the interview that much better. I might bring her to every interview from now on as she is my journalistic secret ingredient.
When I write about an artist, I listen to their music so much that don’t often listen to it when I’m done. But not with this girl. Halo Kitsch has been ON REPEAT for the last two weeks cause I can’t get enough. Be sure to keep an eye out for her cause I predict big things to come.

So my parents purchased an apartment in Porto, Portugal during the pandemic and I finally got to visit. Spoiler alert: I absolutely fell in love with the place. The city is beautiful and most buildings are covered with some of the most gorgeous tile I’ve ever seen, the food is delicious and the people are open, warm and charming. 10/10 would highly recommend.
