Join CPRA for our annual Acadian Cultural Heritage Day on Saturday, August 29, from 1–4 p.m. at the LSU Center for River Studies!

This free, family-friendly event connects our community with organizations dedicated to preserving the Acadian traditions that have been passed down through generations of Louisianans.

Enjoy Cajun dancing from the Allemands Elementary School Traveling Cajun Dancers and partner exhibitors such as Acadian Brown Cotton, Acadian Museum, Codofil -Agence des Affaires Francophones de Louisiane, Atchafalaya National Heritage Area, Louisiana Office of Cultural Development Archaeology Office, Cajun French Music Association Baton Rouge, Atchafalaya Basinkeeper, Center for Traditional Louisiana Boat Building, Vermilionville, BSA Swamp Base, Cajun Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau and more! Tours of the River Model will also be offered through the event.

Need to cool off? Kona Ice of Baton Rouge will be on site with delicious snow cones available for purchase throughout the event!

We are at Handweavers Guild of America - HGA Convergence! Yesterday was our first day, and we were blown away by the support of the amazing fiber artists in attendance here in New Orleans. Our yarn and roving are absolutely FLYING off the shelves. If you want some, don't wait! Stop by today!

In addition to the daytime hours, Convergence Marketplace will be open to the public tonight only, from 7-9pm, at the Sheraton Hotel in New Orleans, 3rd floor, Napoleon Ballroom.
