The past month, my days have been looking a little different than normal.

I have been hard at work moving my membership to my website, which means a lot of computer work. Hopefully, as I finish moving my tutorials over, I can return to having more time to create at my "other desk".

I've always needed some kind of creative outlet. Over the years, the crafts have changed, but I've never stopped wanting to make things with my hands.

With needle felting, I love the whole process - the challenge of figuring out how to create something, watching a pile of wool slowly take shape, and finally reaching that moment when I can sit back and think, I made that.

Sometimes it turns out exactly as I pictured it, sometimes it doesn't, but there's always something learned along the way.

And after all these years, creating something that makes me - and hopefully someone else - smile is still a pretty great feeling.

I loved making this little groundhog holding his heart. ❤️ Every time I look at one of my finished critters, it just makes me smile.

To be honest, I'm still a little in awe sometimes when I finish one and think, "That came from my hands!" Starting with nothing but some wool and a felting needle and ending up with this little guy will never get old.

I'm excited for tomorrow because my sister and a friend are having a crafting retreat not far from me for a few days, and they invited me to join them. I can't do the whole time, but I will go spend a day with them, and this, along with my goose, will be in my bag.

Imagine walking into a room filled with the same decorations you can find in every big-box store...

I finally had an hour to do some more work on the desk goose I started a couple of weeks ago. I got his eyes glued in and finished covering his head with top coat.

Then I started the feet. I had to tear this one apart 2 times before I was happy with the results. Maybe I will be able to sn**ch another hour this weekend to make the other one.
