After a little rest, we are back home from our trip to Topeka and Whicita. (600) miles. We found lots of treasures and will be adding pictures throughout the day. The flea market was a complete bust so we added in a few more stops and found a new shop too. The first day we wore ourselves out. 4am- 9pm driving and shopping. On Saturday we went to an early lunch at Fat Ernie’s in Whicita. Home cooking food and we enjoyed our lunch. I even found a couple items for myself this trip. These are most of the shops we visited. Enjoy the view.

Getting prepared to go sourcing in Topeka/ Whicita visiting antique shops and the Whicita Flea Market at the Sports Forum with 250 dealers. Hoping to find treasures and bring them back for you. Gotta keep inventory supplied! We might even go to a few special honey hole spots. Our cats aren’t too happy with one of them climbing inside our suitcase. Im so ready to take off and get this train moving. See you all when we get back.

Today, Im minding my own business sitting at my desk working I begin to hear a strange soft noise. As I turn around this is what I see! A snoring cat in a box with my punch bowl. I swear if the bowl was empty, he just might climb in for an afternoon nap there. Benson, you are a crazy boy.

I just wanted to talk about the dangers of injuring yourself and what can happen. I just spent 2 1/2 days in the hospital for an infection that came up just 5 days ago. I had hit my lower leg on the dishwasher door while it was down and injured my leg pretty badly. I went to get a tetanus shot and then saw my doctor a few weeks later. At that point all was well. Two weeks ago after it had healed up I went into a pool for a few hours. Then over the last 5 days my lower legs swelled up and turned very red and spots appeared on the left leg. I went into the ER and after numerous hours there they admitted me for 2 1/2 days. I had 10 rounds of IV antibiotics to help clear it up and I will continue to take oral ones for 5 days. The infection didn’t start until six weeks after my injury! Moral of this story is don’t let yourself be fooled into thinking it can’t happen with a single cut. I just got home today and starting to feel better.

Happy 4th of July! Wow I can’t believe it’s already that time of year. We decided on not having a big party this year. ( Most years we go all out). Weather made it very rainy around here. We went to Fairbury Ne yesterday to their flea market in the park and they had about 200 vendors with a big variety of items to choose from. The park had giant shade trees which we enjoyed once the sun came out. Then we went to our favorite spot in Beatrice Ne on the way home. Here is our haul.
