KENTUCKY DAM VILLAGE STATE RESORT PARK‼️

CALVERT CITY, KY – Officials at Kentucky Dam Village have issued an immediate advisory following a startling discovery early this morning. A pod of displaced Pacific walruses has established a temporary colony on the large riprap rocks of the jetty wall adjacent to the park’s New Beach.

Wildlife biologists believe the herd took a wrong turn at the Gulf of Mexico, traveling entirely up the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers before settling on the sun-drenched jetty.

"In my thirty years of monitoring aquatic life, I never expected to be establishing a temporary walrus habitat zone in Kentucky," stated Lead Wildlife Biologist Matt Hooper, who arrived on the scene at dawn. "I haven't been this shocked by a marine anomaly since I was tracking a 25-foot, three-ton eating machine off the New England coast back in '75. At least these guys aren't biting boats in half, but given their size, we're definitely going to need a bigger barricade."

For public safety, access to the jetty wall area and the adjacent New Beach is strictly prohibited until further notice. Park guests are permitted to view the animals from a safe distance behind the barricades, provided they bring appropriate offerings of fresh clams or scallops.
