Pretty wild story at Marvel this weekend
Late last week Marvel changed what was to be the A cover for Amazing Spider-Man #1000 from the previously announced John Romita cover to one by Pepe Larraz
The Romita cover also looked to have been completely removed, not even being listed as a variant of the issue
The John Romita cover had raised some controversy after being announced last month. Some feeling that it was a weird pose and not worthy of issue 1000's A cover
But after the switch by Marvel this past week, more controversy was raised, including friends of our shop Mark Brooks & Scott Snyder who said they loved Romita's cover, and fans who felt that Marvel had thrown Romita, one of the most legendary Spider-Man artists of all time under the bus
Just minutes ago Marvel announced that as of tomorrow, Romita's cover will be returned to its' place as the A cover. We aren't sure if that's because of all the support Romita Jr has gotten over the past few days, or maybe Reckless Ben showed up at Marvel editorial's office, but the Romita cover has been restored
