This time of year, I start breaking out the bright colors...I think it is a response to the grey days of winter. I have always been fascinated by Japanese culture and one of my favorite parts of Spring is the Cherry Blossom Festival. This mini backpack is the first item I made with and it always makes me think of those delicate blossoms floating in the air. Here's to the beauty of an upcoming Spring!

I bought this embroidery piece at the online auction and it is just so much more striking in person than in the photo...growing up around corn myself I feel a real connection to this piece, even though my experiences were quite different, there is still that common thread.

When I sat down to sketch out our newest textile, I intended on doing something simple and neutral in color. I sat down on my patio and started putting colors together, but nothing felt right. Just then I looked up at this beautiful bouquet from my pantry basket...it reminded me of the beauty of Tennessee summer and inspired me to change my mind! This photo is from inspiration to sketch to production, I can't wait to get these lovelies in hand. If you have ever thought of doing something like this yourself contact Mari ! Did you know that Middle Tennessee is home to a rare and fragile ecosystem called cedar glades? These glades are home to many endemic species of plants, and the remarkable colors found in their flowers is the inspiration for our newest textile's color pallette! Thank you to Mari for facilitating this design and for the textile image!

Right after I snapped this pic, my overexuberant Weimaraner ran right through those Black-eyed Susans and turned over my whole setup, breaking my porcelain pallette. So in the spirit of kintsugi, I took it inside and glued it back together as best I could. So now, every time I look at that repair, I will try to remember that perfect love of life that seems to come natural to our canine friends, instead of seeing something imperfect and flawed.

Converted one of our zipper clutches into a crossbody style bag, because I myself like to have my hands free! This one easily held my wallet, phone, glasses, mask, and hand sanitizer with plenty of room to spare. What do you think? Do you like the crossbody option?
