AMEN!!!!!

Let’s talk about it for a minute.

You see an adorable kitten or kittens like this one posted by a rescue that is desperately seeking a foster home to help intake them. You want to help, you apply, you wait to hear. You are so excited.

When you hear back from the rescue you find out they denied you because your pets are not current on vaccines. Your mad, your upset and your disappointed because you really wanted to help save a life.

Here’s the thing. You’re mad at the rescue for looking out for your animals and the animal they are trying to intake. The reason rescues ensure all pets in the home are current on vaccines before approving a foster is for the safety of all the animals.

This adorable kitten and his litter looked healthy at the time of intake, but was quickly noticed the lack of interest in food and then symptoms that make us cringe started 1 by 1. Within the week he and all his litter passed away from panleuk. Even with hospitalization and prompt care they didn’t make it.

Had you took those kittens into your home with unvaccinated cats your cats could be sick and your cats could die. We are not at all trying to scare you but it’s not ok for you to get nasty and rude with rescues because they denied you because your pets are not vaccinated.

Fostering is an incredibly rewarding experience when done RIGHT.

Rescues want foster families. They are the backbone of every rescue and without them rescues couldn’t save so many lives. But the top priority is your personal pets as well as the foster animals safety and health.

Please do not get an attitude with rescues that are only looking out for the animals.

Looking for a quiet companion who just wants to be near you? Louie is your guy.

This 13–15-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua is the definition of easygoing. He’s not a cuddler or attention-seeker he simply enjoys sharing space with his person and being part of your daily routine. Louie is mostly housebroken, settles in nicely, and thrives in a calm, predictable environment.

He’ll need a home with a secure yard since he isn’t leash trained, but that works out perfectly because his favorite pastime is taking slow “laps” outside and soaking up the fresh air. He gets along with other respectful, low-key dogs and prefers a peaceful, drama-free home.

Louie came to Lil Rascals after his owners entered long-term care, and now he’s searching for a soft place to land for his golden years. He does have some manageable senior needs, including limited vision and hearing, a soft diet due to an oronasal fistula, and a prescription kidney diet but he remains content, gentle, and full of quiet companionship.

If you believe in giving seniors the love they deserve, Louie is waiting for you.

Apply today and give this sweet boy the comfort and peace he’s been waiting for.

I love this awesome rescue. I have been working closely with Issla she has helped me so much with adoptions and sharing her space at petsmart. Please if you can help with her 5.00 Friday it truly adds up. I had 3 pregnant cats to get vetted and as you can see one did not make it . We will certainly see that she and her babies are well cared for and that they never have to experience homelessness or giving birth on the streets or anywhere for that matter.

PLEASE PLEASE 5.00 we need your help

**MEOW MONDAY** Thank you to those that call in with concerns about pets.

A resident recently contacted us as the neighborhood cat she had been keeping an eye on was looking more rough than usual. She reported that while he used to wisely dodge the cars in the neighborhood, he was starting to slow down, and she had concerns about his overall wellbeing. That’s how we came to meet kitty A590293, who we now call Dubai.

He’s a 2-year-old brown tabby boy and was definitely in rough shape when discovered. He was examined by our clinic team and diagnosed with sarcoptic mange (scabies), a secondary skin infection and eye infection. Over the weeks he’s been treated for these conditions and is doing much better, now officially cleared of his scabies and infections. He’s been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped so is available for immediate adoption.

He was initially housed in our “special needs” cat room due to his medical needs and because he really wasn’t too happy to be in the shelter. He was standoffish and wouldn’t mind throwing the occasional growl at handlers. As his medical conditions have improved, so has his temperament. He’s now seeking pets at the front of his kennel and will purr when receiving attention.

We want to highlight his story not only to thank the person who reached out to help him initially, but to help him land his next home. He’s evolved into a great adoption candidate, and we think he would thrive in a new home setting. He’s available for interaction at any time our shelter is open to the public.

Sidney and Clint Must Be Adopted Together

Sidney is a 3-year-old long-haired Chihuahua mix who had a tough start in life. He’s shy and scared when meeting new people and will need patience while he learns to feel safe. With time and love in foster, he has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate little boy who loves cuddling, giving goodnight kisses, and playing in the yard with his best friend, Clint. Sidney is crate trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and is working on house training (he wears a belly band). He is not leash trained yet and will require a securely fenced yard.

Clint is a 6-year-old, 13.5-pound Chi mix who is playful, smart, and incredibly loving once he warms up. He enjoys zoomies with his fur buddies, knuckle bones, treats, and cuddling in a lap full of friends. Clint is house trained, rides well in the car, and sleeps quietly at night. He is fearful on leash and will also need a fenced yard and continued patience as he builds confidence.
These two boys are bonded and rely on each other for comfort and confidence.

They must be adopted together.

If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and have a patient, loving home with a fenced yard, please visit our website and complete an application and tell us about your family.
