Pattern play today. Inspired by floor tiles that I saw, I set out to create that pattern and then just started seeing how many other patterns I could come up with from such a simple shape. So much fun!

Happy New Year! I’ve spent the first two weeks layed out with a virus but I’m back in the studio with new ideas. During the late fall I began an online course with and I promptly got behind because the holidays are my craziest time of year.
I am happily back at it and have finally had the time to play. My first block is inspired by our hand cut snowflakes tradition that we hang on our windows every holiday. Those will be a wealth of inspiration going forward.
My second pattern was to challenge myself with a rotational pattern. This was challenging and I really needed to pay attention to the direction on the axis - no daydreaming while printing this one.
I’m addicted and so excited to start to incorporate pattern into my encaustic work.
