Happy Pride Month! At World's End, we celebrate q***r stories and q***r creators all year, but are extra excited to talk about them during June. That's why we've teamed up with our friends at the Kingston Library for a Pride-themed discussion:

Coloring Outside the Lines: LGBTQ+ Representation in Teen Graphic Novels   Saturday, June 20 • 2pm at Kingston Library

Join us for a discussion exploring the evolving representation of LGBTQ+ identities in Teen literature and how we moved away from the concept of “problem," found in early novels” to “pride,” found in contemporary graphic novels. We’ll examine how the genre has helped tell powerful stories of identity and inclusion.

Participants are encouraged to share their personal favorites.  Open to Adults and Teens. No registration needed.

SATURDAY! We'll have Matthew Rose burg ( ) and Andy MacDonald ( ) in store to sign their new comic, If Destruction Be Our Lot, from .

2pm on Sat. 5/30.

Matthew Rosenburg has written for a variety of familiar titles, including Spawn, Joker, DC vs. Vampires, Uncanny X-Men, and Punisher, but he is also the creator of some of our favorite indie series, including What's The Furthest Place From Here? and We're Taking Everyone Down With Us.

Andy MacDonald has drawn art for just about every major comic publisher in the biz. His work can be seen in The Terminator: 1984, Dr. Strange, Wonder Woman, Planet of the Apes, Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Other great series of his include Rogue Planet and I Breathed a Body.

About IF DESTRUCTION BE OUR LOT, an ongoing sci-fi adventure about finding purpose, holding onto hope, and really lonely robots: Humanity is extinct and all that remains are the robots who once helped us.The robots who once helped us are happier now, doing their work without human interference. But not Abe. He believes there must be something more out there. After nearly getting killed, he's determined to wander the Earth until he finds it—or gets recycled trying.

Delayed post, but we had a great time on Sunday at playing Jenga and raising money for the .

Our last three standalone were siblings, and one by one they fell (as did the Jenga towers) til only one, the youngest (let's hear it for youngest children! 🎉 ) claimed victory over his sisters!

You can still support the YMCA Farm Project, which is a youth enrichment program that works toward food justice through sustainable farming practices and farm stands. Visit their page for more info.

We've been having some trouble accessing our Facebook messages, so if you have tried to reach out to us through Messenger in the last few weeks, please know that we're not ignoring you! If you have the dice for it, email us at [email protected]. Social media can be finicky, but our email is always open.

So excited to celebrate the one year anniversary of Las Camelias and the successes of our friend Veronica ( ) who has been part of our Kingston lives from the very beginning, first with her uptown restaurant Alebrijes, then her farmer's market tamales (still the best ever), and now her one-year-old baby restaurant on Broadway.

Veronica is full of love and support for her community, and we are so glad she is here, feeding us and connecting us.
