Dear friends and community,
After seven years and two beautiful spaces, I have made the difficult decision to close At Land. This project has been a labor of love, filled with creativity, successes, failures, and immense personal growth. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has been a part of this journey – from those who helped create and run our spaces, to those who planned and consulted behind the scenes, to those who shared our vision through images and words, and to all of you who shopped and treasured your purchases or simply connected with us from near and far. Together, we built a beautiful community of design lovers that I am so proud to know.
And to our designers, makers, and artists… you were the heart of At Land. You made this business what it was and inspired us all.
My vision for At Land was to create a quiet and calm space for discovery and connection, a place to delve into the why and how, as information and attention spans grew shorter. I aimed to advocate for conscious production and highlight the challenges faced by small businesses in our industry. Sadly, despite these goals, the current climate has made it increasingly difficult to uphold this vision.
Due to a continued uphill battle, recent setbacks related to our current space, the financial burden of these uncertain times, and ongoing personal health challenges exacerbated by the stress of running a small retail business, I have made this decision with confidence and clarity.
We will be winding down mid-May, as the leaves and flowers are in full bloom, as we welcome new beginnings. We will also be hosting one last exhibition in the Gallery, and I am very excited to share more details with you soon.
I hope to see you before we close, and I deeply appreciate your engagement, support, and kindness as I work towards wrapping up this chapter.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
M
