For a sitcom that is often remembered for cheesecake and one-liners it was remarkably progressive.
It tackled a surprising number of social issues that were considered controversial for prime-time television in the 1980s and early 1990s, including agism, sexism, LGBTQ and family acceptance, teen pregnancy, divorce and remarriage, domestic abuse, drug addiction and more, all wrapped in sharp, witty, irreverent humor.💜💜💜💜
