Well everyone, Jaden Bethke made it into this world in CRAZY STYLE (also, we are still arguing about spelling —Jaden or Jayden. BRB on that one 😂)
Alyssa woke me up at 4am saying her contractions are hitting pretty hard I think it’s time to go. I pack my bag, wake up Kinsley (she was going to be with us in labor and delivery room the whole time and was so excited), and called her mom to begin fully executing operation Birthplan (to come watch the kids). The contractions began to get worse to the point where Alyssa said ‘get in the car. We need to be ready right when my mom gets here.’ Then like a FLASH, her mom pulled in, while simultaneously Alyssa yells, “he’s coming! Right now! He’s coming!’ And jumps out of the car and rips off all her clothes 😂 to which Alyssa’s mom jumped in to help Alyssa, and I then called 911 while kinsley and I sprinted next door to our neighbor’s house who’s an older amazing retired pediatric intensive care unit surgeon. While I did that 911 was like ‘hey I need to be speaking with the mom to help her’ so Kinsley takes my phone and races back to Alyssa at the house, while I banged on their door a bunch and right when I was about to leave because I wasn’t sure they were home, their porch light flips on, and I tell him Alyssa is having the baby in our front yard and he says ‘let’s go!’ We both begin to sprint back to our house and when we get there, Alyssa and her mom and Kinsley are already holding baby fully born and out of the womb, in our front yard (he literally came in 60-90 seconds)! Our neighbor jumps in and tells me to go get a shoelace so he can use it to clamp the umbilical cord (MacGyver style!) and right about then ambulances pull up and take care of us all! Whew. What a freaking whirlwind but honestly the most fun story and adrenaline rush of all time 😂 little Jaden will be hearing about the way he entered the world for the rest of his life that’s for sure! 8 pounds 11 ounces and our whole family is in love. What a gift he is!!
