Hello, smiling souls!
You probably don’t recognize this mug. Which I’m totally fine with. But that’s me.

I’m Rachel, the creator or ecoMRKT. Former corporate furniture designer turned sustainable lifestyle goods brand (). But here to share my passion-driven initiative ecoMRKT!
To put it simply, I’m crazy passionate about connecting sustainable independent businesses to everyday people like you and me. The reasons?
1. Building communities: Promoting a healthy economy by supporting these independent businesses is important.
2. To share fun things: Since creativity and design are so deeply rooted in me, sharing with others that there are modern sustainable products out there is what makes me smile. Like worms that eat plastic or leather made from pineapple or avocado waste.
3. To make it easier for all: Over the past 10 years, I’ve spent hours seeking eco-friendly alternatives for essentials and extras (IYKYK). Friends and family would say they don’t have the time and the patience. And forums would be filled with inquiries and requests on where to find that refillable [product]. Now you can search in seconds.
4. To shift our paradigm of consumption: yes, this is a platform with goods. Yet its existence isn’t to get you to buy more. It’s to change the relationship we have with goods, people, makers, farmers, communities and our planet. Find that sustainable alternative easily, or that beautiful classic wool sweater that will last.

Yesterday was the international day of forests. When I typically think of a forest, my mind immediately thinks of the mountains and the evergreen trees. But there are forests right at the coast as well!

These ocean mangroves are so critical, especially now with more extreme climates we’re having. There deep roots and strong foundations will protect the coasts from erosion.

So, even if we missed it, thank a forest today or every day!

Took a trip to Maui about a month ago and took my along. It was perfect for the post swim (and rinse) wipe down. Light and dried so quickly!
