The new city ordinance banning distribution and sale of plastic straws and stirrers will take effect on January 1, 2020.

On December 2, 2019, the City of Key West is hosting a Plastic Free Public Workshop at City Commission Chambers from 2:00pm-6:00pm. At 5:30pm there will be a presentation on the new plastic ban, a discussion about bio-plastics and biopolymers. Vendors will be on hand with examples of alternatives to the plastic straw. Please share with anyone who may be interested or own a business in the City of Key West!
