📢We have been telling makers stories alongside their products since 2016, and this is story: Annabel Inganni incorporated a decade of accessory and apparel design experience to create what is deeply personal for her: Wolfum. Inspired by Vera Neumann, Alexander Girard and Marimekko, her designs are bold and timeless. The designs are merged with traditional wood craftsmanship that is sustainable, eco-friendly, and heirloom quality.  Each product is handmade in Los Angeles in partnership with her husband and furniture maker Brendan Sowersby.  The hope is that Wolfum products make people happy with print and color, allowing one to stop and wonder, all the while being adored.

The Magic of Iron: Early Europeans believed iron possessed mystical powers. Because iron withstood the heat of the forge and was used by powerful blacksmiths, it was thought to repel malicious fairies, witches, and evil spirits.

The Crescent Shape: Ancient cultures, such as the 8th-century Chaldeans, associated the crescent-shaped curve with moon goddesses and symbols of fertility and prosperity.

Saint Dunstan and the Devil: A popular 10th-century myth features St. Dunstan (the patron saint of blacksmiths). When the devil asked him to shoe his horse, Dunstan nailed the shoes to the devil's own hooves instead. The devil endured agonizing pain and agreed to never enter a threshold protected by a hung horseshoe

As to which way to hang it? hanging the horseshoe with the ends pointing up acts like a storage container, catching and holding good luck inside your home.
Other traditions suggest hanging it pointing down so that the luck continually pours out and showers good fortune onto everyone who walks underneath.
