The holidays are a season of togetherness, and this year our family is holding that especially close.
Since the passing of my dad in July, my sister and I are traveling with our mom so she can spend meaningful time with each of us during the holiday season.

We are so grateful for the grace, patience, and support from this wonderful community.

We will reopen January 16th, until then remember to hug your people tight and let them know they are loved. ❤️

Happy Thursday y’all. Penny and I are off to some last minute appts. We will be closed today through Monday and we will be opened next Tuesday as long as everything goes as well.
If you’re on Holland America or any other ship between today and next Monday, we hope you have a beautiful day in Ketchikan!

Over the next few months the shop will be randomly closed as my sister and I continue to help my mom adjust to life without my dad and so we can take care of some medical appts for her which will require traveling. I will do my best to make an announcement on fb before it happens.

Remember we are online and have help shipping orders out when we are not able to be in the shop. 😀

My family extends a big thank you again for your patience and understanding during this life shift.

A few announcements -
Tomorrow (7/16) we will be closed for the day.

I need to address this next - Several local customers have stopped by over this past week to ask if we are going to close due to my dad’s passing. No, we are not planning on closing. This is very fresh and raw for my mom and I. Please hold a moment for us while we grieve, adjust, and learn to walk forward without having him next to us.

These wonderful fabrics just arrived!

Artist Loretta Gould is a talented Mi’kmaq quilter and painter, celebrated for her use of bright, vibrant colors. Born in 1976 and raised in the Waycobah First Nation, her work reflects her deep connection to her Indigenous heritage.

Y’all!!! We had the sweetest group of ladies come in today that were with a quilt cruise by Country Heritage Tours. Among those people were Janet and Doug George. Yes, yes, I was fan geeking. As you know the shop’s long arm is a 21x elite, and she is one of their ambassadors. I have watched so many of Janet’s videos on YouTube and they have given so much advice and encouragement on FB groups to myself and countless others. I was star struck😍 They are the nicest and most helpful humans.

Yesterday our community experienced a new landslide. Thankfully, no one was injured. This is our main road that runs the entire length of your town. Our community pulled together and within hours we had commuter boats set up to get people around the slide safely, neighbors checking on pets, kids, homes for those who were stranded on either side of the slide. Happy Friday everyone! Due to not having any heat in the building until Monday (it’s 54* in here right now 😱), we will be closing today and tomorrow.
