A REAL PRINCESS DOESN’T WEAR GLASS SLIPPERS • She wears Rainboots.

For some of us, “toughen up” wasn’t really advice. It was just… the only option we had.

You fell down? Get back up.
It’s raining? Put your boots on.
Something needs done? You figure it out.
Life gets hard? Well— tomorrow is still coming.

And somewhere along the way, we got really good at being tough. Maybe even tougher than we ever needed to be, because for so long there wasn’t a choice.

That’s the part of Tuf’n Up, Buttercup that has grown into something bigger than the drawing for me. Being capable of weathering just about anything doesn’t mean we were only made for weathering things… Maybe growing up is learning that you can still be the kid who pulled on her boots and kept going, while finally letting yourself stop to pick the flowers along the way.

Woodlands Exclusive Tuf’n Up Buttercup drawn by Owner / Multimedia Artist Spring Barry, was made from a little nostalgia, a lot of rain, and the kind of toughness you don’t really realize you learned until you’ve grown through it.

ALL I WANNA DO • is go fishing. What’s left on your summer bucket list? Ketchikan’s Famous Smokeshow NOW RELEASED as a beautiful hard enamel keychain, small, compact, lightweight, and adorned with a Woodlands charm!! I love her! 😍 and I can’t get over the fact that it’s not the guys buying her up… It’s all my ladies!! 😂 You all never stop surprising me!

AND THE REST IS STILL UNWRITTEN • and maybe that’s where the wonder lives. This song reminds me how fleeting life’s moments can be. Like a name you can’t remember, or a word on the tip of your tongue, or maybe it’s seeing someone wear something on their back, for just a split second, that once only was an idea in my head.

I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to that part.

Maybe that’s part of why I keep making things. Little pieces of my imagination that somehow get to leave my hands and go have lives and be apart of moments of their own for so many!

Never forget, she’s been drawn + printed right here in Ketchikan, Alaska, ready to wander somewhere I probably never will. 🪼💜

WHEN YOUR KEYS MAKE A SPLASH • but in a good way.
🎣😉 Born, drawn + made for the place where salmon aren’t just something we fish for, they’re part of our summer plans, our livelihoods, our dinner tables, our way of life, our stories… and quite literally, the reason Kichx̱áan, an abundant summer fish camp, was put on the map.

BUT, Woodlands exclusive design ‘KETCHIKAN’S FAMOUS SMOKESHOW’ NOW FLOATS! It’s just landed on a floating keychain, made for the keys that probably spend a little too much time around the water anyway. Boat keys, truck keys, hitch lock keys, engine keys, keys for my keys… or really, any of the keys you absolutely do not want disappearing into the deep end. 😬 been there done that!
