First time coming across our own Purple honey.. next year I'm gonna try and get a small harvest of just purple honey!! (Didn't catch it in time so it was missed with other honey sources during the extraction process)

Purple honey is only found in the Carolinas and is extremely rare, while they haven't identified exactly what floral source causes the honey to turn purple I always heard from my grandpa that true "sourwood" honey was purple.
