Our Safe House flooded. We need your help to bring it back.
Our Safe House — where women and children find refuge in their most vulnerable moments — has suffered significant water damage from a flooding incident. We are facing $30,000 in repair expenses that we did not plan for and cannot absorb alone.
While the Safe House itself is temporarily closed during repairs, our crisis hotline remains active and our advocates are still available to support survivors every day. But we cannot restore this critical space without community support — and that’s exactly why we're sharing this with you.
Below are three clear ways you can help — whatever fits your situation best. Every single one makes a real difference.
1) Make a direct donation to Safe House recovery: Give any amount toward the $30,000 we need to repair flood damage and restore our Safe House to full strength. Every dollar goes directly toward getting this critical space back to the women who need it. https://nextstepdv.org/
2) Join Neighbors of Hope, our new monthly giving program — and one of the most powerful ways to support NSM long-term. A recurring gift means we can plan ahead, staff well, and keep showing up for survivors every single month. https://nextstepdv.org/noh/
3) Host a fundraiser night at your place of business: Partner with Next Step Ministries for a Nite Out for Good — designate one evening and donate a portion of your sales directly to NSM. It’s a meaningful way to engage your customers and make a real community impact. Don’t own a business, but know someone who does? Please introduce us! We’d love to connect with small business owners in the community who want to make a difference.
Whatever path feels right for you — a one-time gift, a monthly commitment, or opening your business to the community — please know that it matters deeply. Moments like this are exactly why community exists.
And if none of these feel like the right fit right now, the simplest thing you can do is tag someone in the comments who might be able to help. Word of mouth from our community is one of our most powerful tools we have and need, especially now.
Thank you
